Men’s Ministry

“Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.”    1 Peter 1:18-19

There have been times in my life where God’s voice was so clear, I dare not stand still.

Two years ago God called me to a ministry of inspiring, coaching, teaching and equipping men toward victorious living by means of reconciliation and forgiveness from generational scars. Sharing and ministering to men across broad economic and social backgrounds, I’ve witnessed the pain, hurt, and doubt we carry into our business and personal lives caused by the scars inflicted upon us as young men. Through the hope we have in Christ Jesus, these strongholds can be broken.

At a young age, I witnessed first-hand the effects of father-to-son (and daughter) character flaws that can stain a life. This need for healing between child and parent became painfully evident when my wife and I adopted three children from the foster system while living in Los Angeles. Often I’m asked to speak on adoption, and inevitably those discussions begin with the pain inflicted, even unintentionally, from our loving but flawed earthly fathers. I believe if we direct our attention to healing from the affliction of generational scars, many will find deliverance and recovery in Christ. Then, men won’t leave, families will stay together, and more children will be loved in healthy, forever homes.

In approaching these conflicts through the art of film, illuminated by prayer, community and scripture, we can treat these deeply seated wounds in a way that can lead to catharsis, epiphany, liberation of our hearts and Victory in Christ.

If you would like to talk about these areas in your life, or maybe would just like someone to pray with or for you, please email me at: dnelson@heartofthegameministries.org. All conversations are highly confidential and treated with the utmost care.

Blessings,

D.
