“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”    Ephesians 2:10

Lately, Ephesians 2:10 has become my go-to verse.  Not only is it phenomenal to think about the fact that we are God’s handiwork, it is exhilarating to know that we were created to do good works which he prepared in advance for us to do!  Whether we are crafty or not, we all know what it is like to work on a project of the heart.  I had a neighbor once who did incredible needlework, each piece its own creation.  Even my five-year-old daughter, Sabrina, gets totally fixated on her artwork when she has a paintbrush in hand.  As I watch her, I see the subtle smile of satisfaction as she puts the final touches on her princess unicorn painting.  Can you imagine God taking that kind of pleasure in forming each and every one of us?

And then to know that he has designed us for specific tasks, giving us gifts and desires and a heart towards those very works he has in mind for us to do, is truly motivational!  But sometimes, we have these elements swirling around us, but we have a hard time putting it all together as our life’s mission.  I love helping women uncover, investigate, ponder and discover those very things.

As we go through our lives, as Christian women we know we have an affinity toward certain things and we are drawn to help certain people groups.  But to know there are specific and exact things that God has in mind for us to do is a challenging thought—in the best sense.  If there are roadblocks or sad events from our past that the enemy can use to keep us from our mission—he will use them.  My hope is to help women see that even through the pitfalls and set-backs; God is still crafting us for his pre-designed purpose!  We are HIS handiwork!
